It's hard to believe that we are about to hit the two-year mark from the time Everett was taken from this world. Two years that seem so distant yet so near at the same time. It's even harder to believe that someone out there that knows, through all the various videos and images of the person responsible, still hasn't spoken up and helped take a dangerous individual off the street and allowing them the chance to destroy another family's world.
But we press on...we have not stopped looking and we have not let Ev's love for people and desire to help underserved communities to be forgotten. This is our foundations mission today - do the job that Ev would've done had he been given the chance.
Yesterday (9/20), the local ABC television (www.6abc.com) station came out to our house and did an interview about this tragedy, the impact, and how we are trying to make a positive out of our all-encompassing grief. They did a great job and we are tremendously grateful for them giving us a chance to speak to the public and ask that anyone with information to come forward. You can find the story here: Everett Beauregard murder: Vigil planned for Temple graduate randomly killed in 2022 - 6abc Philadelphia
Later today, starting at 6:30pm, we are going to the scene of the crime at 35th & Spring Garden Sts and we will have a short remembrance of Everett's life. As part of that, we will be placing luminaries along the last stretch of sidewalk he was walking on as a visual story of the light that was extinguished that night two years ago.
Thank you all for following us and helping support our mission, it is greatly appreciated. Stay tuned as we will be announcing a couple other donations to programs in the city that directly help, and give opportunity to, the community.
